6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory).
6.1 Address for obtaining copies of reference documents. Copies of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) are available from the U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C. 20402.
6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number and date of this CID.
b. Issue of Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISSS) to be cited in the solicitation.
c. Treatment and painting required when other than as specified.
d. If storage chest is to be provided.
e. Applicable level of preservation, packaging, and marking.
6.3 Noise limits. When the noise level of the hammer exceeds 85 dB(A), the appropriate discussion of the noise hazard in accordance with MIL-STD-1474 (MANUAL paragraph) should include the requirement for hearing protection, the noise level of the hammer, and the distance from the hammer at which 85 dB(A) will always be met.
6.4 Cross-reference. Pneumatic hammers conforming to this CID are interchangeable/substitutable with pneumatic hammers conforming to MIL-H-11689C.
