Salient characteristics:
Conform to the requirements of Underwriters’ Laboratories Standard No.45.
Equipped with 1/4 horsepower, 120 VAC universal motor, rated 4.4 amperes minimum
Momentary contact switch conveniently located
Designed to impart orbiting motion
Built to withstand the strains, jars, vibration, and other conditions incident to shipping storage, installation, and service.
Equipped with permanently lubricated commercially available bearings
Pad size 10-1/2 inches, plus or minus 1/2 inch.
Overall length 12 inches maximum.
Rated load orbiting speed 28 opm, plus or minus 10
Accessories:
12 terry cloth bonnets
2 sponge pads (10/12 inches in diameter and 1-3/8 inches thick)
Bonnets and pads constructed to fit snugly over the working heads and remain securely in place during operation of the machine.

Parts list.
Workmanship. The polisher, including all parts and accessories, shall be free from fins, burrs, rust, external sharp or rough edges, imperfections, and any other defects which may impair serviceability, durability, or appearance.
The issue of UL Standard 45 in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking. Each polisher with accessory parts shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling, and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be in accordance with the contract or order.
