Salient characteristics:
Air powered horizontal reciprocating type.
Stroke- 1/4 inch minimum, 1-1/4 inches maximum.
Operating speed- 2400 minimum, 3200 maximum strokes per minute
Operating pressure:
For sanding- 90 psi minimum, 120 psi maximum
For filing- 120 psi minimum, 140 psi maximum
Air consumption at operating pressure- 7 cfm minimum, 9 cfm maximum
1/4 inch female NPTF air inlet size
Length- 13 inches minimum, 6 inches maximum
Width- 2-3/4 inches maximum
Height- 5-3/4 inches minimum, 7 inches maximum
Weight- 6-1/2 pounds minimum, 8-1/4 pounds maximum
Provided with air line oiler, either built-in or separately attached
Conversion from filing blade to sanding shoe shall not require the disassembly of any major part of the machine.
Supplied with the manufacturer’s standard operating and maintenance instructions
Furnished with one each of the following attachments:
Self-cleaning type filling blade with 8 to 13 teeth per inch; minimum of 13 inches long, and 1-1/2 inches wide, plus or minus 1/8 inch.
Sanding shoe compatible for use with abrasive sheets 17-1/2 inches long and 2-3/4 inches wide
Marked with manufacturer’s name or trademark so that source of manufacture may be readily determined

Workmanship. The sander-filer, including all parts and accessories, shall be free from fins, rust, burrs, imperfections, and any other defects which may impair serviceability, durability, or appearance.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall utilize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking. Each sander-filer, with accessory parts, shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with normal commercial practice and packed to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with the National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be as specified in the contract or order.
