DRILL, ELECTRIC, PORTABLE, BATTERY POWDERED, 750 RPM
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description.
This commercial item description coverd one type of battery-powered drill.
Salient characteristics:
Reversible.
Cordless.
3/8-inch chuck capacity.
750 rpm maximum no load speed.
1-hour recharging cycle with removable energy pack with 80-W minimum and 110-W maximum output.
Pistol grip style handle with a three-position trigger switch (forward, reverse, and safety).
Key retainer.
Ball thrust bearing.
Double reduction gearing.
Edge welded nickel cadmium batteries in removable energy pack (mounted in handle); fast charge type with a built-in high temperature thermostat to prevent overcharging.
Furnished with separate recharger, connectable to 120 VAC service.
Drilling capacity (on one charge):
Approximately 60 each 1/4-inch holes 16-gauge cold rolled steel or
Approximately 100 each 3/8 inch holes in 2-by 4-inch fir, using sharp high speed steel twist drills,or
Driving approximately 150 each number 10 by 1-inch screws, in 2-inch fir (with number 43 pilot hole).
Marked with manufacturer’s name or trademark and part number.
Assigned National Stock Number (NSN) 5130-01-010-0912.
Workmanship. Shall be free of defects that may impair serviceability or durability.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall uti;ize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. Each drill, with accessory parts, shall be preserved, packaged and packed in accordance with normal commercial practice to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be in accordance with the contract or order.
