The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description.
Salient characteristics:
Conform to ANSI A10,3 1972, per the low velocity class.
Powered by a .27 caliber, short, rim fired, crimped power load.
Built-in safety device to prevent the unit from being actuated unless the driver has a fastener in it and muzzle end is against the work surface.
Piston and fastener recessed in the tool guide by a ramrod to produce low recoil and reduce fastener stress.
Designed to permit disassembly and assembly for cleaning purposes without the need for special tools.
Pistol grip handle with a full handle trigger to permit operation with the user wearing heavy work gloves and to improve operator’s comfort.
Recessed pistons to accept the threaded portion of studs, to provide fastener guidance, and to ensure that the threads are not driven into the work surface.

Capable of properly installing the following fasteners as applicable;

With tapered base plate to allow it to be used in tight places.

Capable of properly installing 3/8-,5/16-, and 1/4-inch diameter threaded studs and nails into concrete or steel.
With front end stabilizer,
Capable of driving Hilti “Conic” pins and stud.
Workmanship. Driver shall be free of defects or imperfections that may impair serviceability and durability.
Certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producer’s own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and is the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
Recovered materials. The manufacturer shall uti;ize recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable.
Packaging, packing, and marking. The drivers, with accessory parts, shall be preserved, packaged and packed in accordance with normal commercial practice to assure acceptance by common carrier and provide product protection against loss and damage during multiple shipments, handling and storage. The shipping container shall be in compliance with National Motor Freight Classification and Uniform Freight Classification. Marking shall be in accordance with the contract or order.
